Our Mission

To increase awareness and knowledge of safe boating, by educating and training members and the general public, by fostering fellowship among members, and by establishing partnerships and alliances with organizations and agencies interested in boating.

About Us

Alouette Power and Sail Squadron is a unit of Canadian Power & Sail Squadrons – Escadrilles canadiennes de plaisance (CPS-ECP).

The Alouette Power and Sail Squadron serves Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, and Mission in beautiful British Columbia, Canada and is staffed ENTIRELY by experienced and knowledgeable local volunteers. No other boating course provider offers the depth of knowledge we can provide to you and your family – ensuring you stay safe on our local waters.

We aren’t just about courses, either! We are the largest (and only!) local boating community. Joining us is the best way for you to meet fellow boaters that share your passions and interests. We look forward to meeting you!

Courses

Boating 2 – Beyond Boating Basics
February 11 – March 17, 2020

The PCOC makes sure you have immediate navigation and safety skills but it’s just the beginning of what you should know when you get on a boat. In the second of our Boating Series, you are introduced to the art of navigation, anchoring, ropes, lines and knots – not to mention what to expect when the boat is moving under power. This course also has a number of optional topics that will be taught depending on your interests; these include towing, trailering and a check list for layup and launch.

Course will be held at Maple Ridge Secondary,
21911 – 122nd Avenue, Maple Ridge, BC
and will run for 6 consecutive Tuesday evenings
from 7pm-9pm, Feb. 11th to Mar. 17th.

Seminar for Youth
March 17, 18, & 19,  2020

Have your child learn safe boating over Spring Break!

The PCOC Seminar, ages 8-12
3 consecutive days: March 17, 18, & 19
from 10am-2pm at the Maple Ridge Public Library

The Approved Boating Handbook and the Student Workbook prepares kids aged 8-12 for the Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC) exam. The Student Workbook is full of activities that assists children to learn the material found in the Boating Handbook. Whether your child takes the class or simply uses the kit as a study guide, upon successful completion of the test, you will receive a one-year complimentary Associate Membership to CPS, with benefits.
